Henry’s Apartment Building

The building he lived in had a dandelion yellow facade. It looked as if the sun had thrown up on the exterior walls. Hard to miss. Maybe that’s why he chose to live there. Actually, she was sure it was.

His building reminded her of summer vacations spent with her parents. They always went somewhere with lots of nature and as few people as possible. She remembered one trip in particular where she made a dandelion crown for her mother, who also wore a yellow cotton sundress that day. Maybe that’s why she enjoyed visiting him so much. Actually, she was sure it was.

“Hello, Henry. How are you today?” she asked as she entered his apartment.

“Oh, you know, these old bones won’t let me dance as much as I’d like, but I get your visits as a consolation.”
