Fuchsia is my favorite color, so today I’ll freestyle it, because sometimes I like spontaneity.
First of all, many people think fuchsia is pink, but it is not. Pink is made by mixing in white to red pigment, but fuchsia is made of red and blue pigments. Magenta is fuchsia’s very close relative.
Fun fact: when I develop or Photoshop images, I add a slight magenta tint to them. I think of this as my signature.
I don’t know why or how fuchsia became my favorite color, but having contact with it improves my mood and calms me.
I wish I could dye my hair fuchsia without completely destroying it; so I’m waiting for it to turn gray (working on it) and then I’ll be the crazy old lady with fuchsia hair (Don’t you dare call it pink!).
This reminds me of when I used to work in a bank back in Chicago, and there would be a nice old lady who’d come in. Her hair was always some odd color (think pastel purple, blue or pink) and her lipstick unevenly drawn outside the lip line. There’s something equally sad and liberating about that image.
Fuchsia-colored things I own that make me happy: water bottle, running shoes that I don’t use for running (I hate running), wind jacket, 3-tiered serving platter that we use to store fruit, and probably more things that I can’t think of right now.
What is your favorite color? Why?

I’m fond of greens and blues. I used to love to have fuschia plants when we had a garden They always brightened things up.

That’s fabulous.
I love fuchsia and magenta because of their blue base. I have a purple streak in my hair and I make sure it is blue-based, not red. Funny what colors seek you out or resonate with you. I have always loved turquoise and black.
Please get your hair colored fuchsia! That would be awesome!
I kept thinking what colour starts with F 🙂 Great post, Ula. Turquois, green and blue are my colours 🙂
i’m obsessed with the color ORANGE!
my favorite nfl team is the broncos who are orange and blue and my favorite mlb team is the orioles who are orange and black. not sure if i liked the teams because their colors were orange or i liked orange because of my teams. either way i love orange!
my car is orange, most of my clothes are orange, my accessories are oranges.
I’ve always been partial to black or red. Black because it is all encompassing. Red, because well, just because.
Also, I really want to see the fuchsia hair.
There are certain greens which I love and warm autumn-colours … I am not really a fan of pink, fuchsia is better, but not my favourite…
I love bright, bold colors! (you might have noticed from my hot air balloon..)
I always keep a fuschia lipstick – such a vibrant color
I love that you use a fuchsia tint as your signature–how cool is that? Once again, beautiful photo.
My favourite color is teal, and other shades of intense blue-green. They look great on me and they remind me of islands and the ocean, things I love. I’m just drawn to that color–it’s so pretty. People who know me well call it after me.
Fushia is such a rich in-your-face gorgeous color. And I love what it says about you that you’re planning to be a fushia colored crone. I’d be hard pressed to choose a single favorite color – it truly does vary from day to day for me. I’m definitely one of those 64-colors of crayons lovers and think nothing is more beautiful that fields of multi-colored wildflowers.
I love fushia. Just got a pair of shorts in fushia…
My favorite colors change over time. I used to be a purple freak but then I changed to orange (bright) and now I’m really digging the greens…
don’t know what that says about me, changing my favs all the time…
I just love color, period.
Hope you’re having fun with the A-Z…

I love fuchsia, the plant, but prefer a darker purple as my favorite. Or blues, especially deep shades.
