The Blackest Black
The blackest black
Absorbs 99.965% of light
A black hole abyss
Resting on the liminal edge
Between the imagined and real
The blackest black
Owned exclusively
By one man — an artist
Immoral, I’m sure
Blacker than anything
You can imagine

Love how you are weaving colour into your poetry!
Thank you, Gulara. I hope I can keep it up for the month. Not all will be poetry though.
Your poem makes me wonder how black became so associated with evil (and death), at least in our culture. Perhaps it is because it is the absence of light?
I’m sure the story behind it is fascinating and complex. I do remember reading somewhere that white used to be associated with death. Thank you for visiting, reading, and commenting, Alana.
Not a colour in technical sense, but a brilliant choice for today and the letter B.
Yes, technically, black is the absence of color. Thank you, Claudia.
Love it. ~Liz http://www.lizbrownleepoet.com
Thanks, Liz.
I loved this! Really good poem and as black is my favourite colour (or non colour I suppose) this was a great one for me 🙂

Thank you.
Love this one too. It evokes so many emotions from white patriarchal oppression to the mystery of black holes. Love your use of language here.
I love your reading of this, Anne. You’ve taken this deeper than I thought about it. Thank you.
Amber gave me a bit of a jolt, but I’m fine with your liminal edges and black abyss. 🙂
